New Company to Locate in Whitwell

Whitwell, TN (August 17, 2013) - Whitwell native Dwight Bryant will break ground on August 26 for the new construction of a $2.5 million plant to produce highly efficient fire logs and barbecue briquettes.  Prologue will employ 30 workers and turn leaves and other woody bio-mass waste materials into biofuels.  The plant will be the first business to be constructed in Valley View Centre, Marion County's newest business and industrial park.

Volkswagen Supplier to Locate in Walker County

LaFayette, GA (August 13, 2013) - Officials said Monday, that Clark-Cutler-McDermott Co., a Volkswagen and General Motors supplier, plans to purchase a former Shaw Industries facility in Walker County, Georgia to produce acoustical insulations for the auto industry.  The company is said to invest upward of $3 million and hire 50 employees.

Global Green Lighting to Hire 250 for Chattanooga Facility

Chattanooga, TN (March 2013) – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty and Don Lepard, president and CEO of Global Green Lighting (GGL), announced the company’s plans to hire as many as 250 people at a 180,000 square foot facility in Chattanooga. 

IT Company to add 116 New Jobs

Chattanooga, TN (Sept 4, 2012) – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bill Hagerty announced that Hönigsberg & Düvel Corporation, an information technology company, will expand its Chattanooga operations. The announcement represents an investment of $600,000 and will create 116 new jobs.

American Tire Distributors Proposes Chattanooga Facility,  Announces Multi-Million Dollar Investment 

Chattanooga, TN (March 13, 2012) – American Tire Distributors (ATD), the nation’s leading replacement tire distributor, recently announced plans to open a distribution center in Chattanooga, a project that will bring a projected $10-20 million in investment and 40 new jobs with annual wages averaging $50,000 to the area over a period of three years.

German Technology Enterprise Locates in Chattanooga, Creates Jobs

Chattanooga, TN (February 3, 2011) – ATN Hölzel GmbH, a German specialist in glue application and automation technology, announced plans to establish its U.S. presence in Chattanooga on Wednesday, a project that will bring a $500,000 investment and 15-20 new jobs with annual wages averaging $60,000 over a period of three years.

Amazon Announces Commitment to Build Facilities in Region

Nashville, TN (December 20, 2010) – Governor Phil Bredesen today joined Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber in announcing Amazon.com, Inc. has finalized its commitment to establish two fulfillment centers in Tennessee, one at the Enterprise South Industrial Park in Chattanooga and the other along State Route 308 in neighboring Bradley County. Amazon.com.dedc, LLC plans to invest a combined total of up to $139 million to construct the two new facilities, with up to 1,400 jobs expected to be created in the next three years, in addition to hundreds of additional seasonal jobs during peak season. The new fulfillment centers are expected to be operational before the 2011 holiday season.

Wingard Relocates Here to Provide Tire and Wheel Assembly for VW

Chattanooga, TN (August 9, 2010) - Wingard Quality Supply, LLC (WQS) has been awarded the contract for tire and wheel assembly for the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant. Wingard, which will relocate its headquarters from California to the Volkswagen Supplier Park, will hire between 20 and 25 employees.

Chattanooga Seating Systems to Supply Volkswagen Chattanooga

Chattanooga, TN (April 5, 2010) – Magna Seating, an operating group of Magna International, and Hollingsworth International, a leading provider of industrial supply chain management, announced they have formed a joint venture, called Chattanooga Seating Systems, to supply Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) with complete seat systems for the mid-size sedan to be built at Volkswagen’s new Chattanooga, Tennessee, assembly facility.

WWL to Create 80 Local Jobs

Chattanooga, TN (April 1, 2010) - Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a global leader in factory-to-dealer logistics, has been awarded the vehicle processing and yard management business at Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations new plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The company will create 80 local jobs to fulfill the contract.

WWL will provide the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant with outbound yard management and vehicle processing services, including technical services and value added accessory installation, vehicle releasing, distribution and rail loading. Production is expected to begin in the first half of 2011.

Costco is Coming to Catoosa County in August

Fort Oglethorpe, GA (February 19, 2010) -- Costco Wholesalers announced plans of its new location in Catoosa County off Scruggs Road adjacent to Cloud Springs Road and Interstate 75.  The "membership warehouse club" is expected to open in August and will offer between 125 and 150 jobs.
