German Technology Enterprise Locates in Chattanooga, Creates Jobs

Chattanooga, TN (February 3, 2011) – ATN Hölzel GmbH, a German specialist in glue application and automation technology, announced plans to establish its U.S. presence in Chattanooga on Wednesday, a project that will bring a $500,000 investment and 15-20 new jobs with annual wages averaging $60,000 over a period of three years.

 

Amazon Announces Commitment to Build Facilities in Region


Nashville, TN (December 20, 2010) – Governor Phil Bredesen today joined Economic and Community Development Commissioner Matt Kisber in announcing Amazon.com, Inc. has finalized its commitment to establish two fulfillment centers in Tennessee, one at the Enterprise South Industrial Park in Chattanooga and the other along State Route 308 in neighboring Bradley County. Amazon.com.dedc, LLC plans to invest a combined total of up to $139 million to construct the two new facilities, with up to 1,400 jobs expected to be created in the next three years, in addition to hundreds of additional seasonal jobs during peak season. The new fulfillment centers are expected to be operational before the 2011 holiday season.

Wingard Relocates Here to Provide Tire and Wheel Assembly for VW

Chattanooga, TN (August 9, 2010) - Wingard Quality Supply, LLC (WQS) has been awarded the contract for tire and wheel assembly for the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant. Wingard, which will relocate its headquarters from California to the Volkswagen Supplier Park, will hire between 20 and 25 employees.

 

Chattanooga Seating Systems to Supply Volkswagen Chattanooga

Chattanooga, TN (April 5, 2010) – Magna Seating, an operating group of Magna International, and Hollingsworth International, a leading provider of industrial supply chain management, announced they have formed a joint venture, called Chattanooga Seating Systems, to supply Volkswagen Group of America (VWGoA) with complete seat systems for the mid-size sedan to be built at Volkswagen’s new Chattanooga, Tennessee, assembly facility.

 

WWL to Create 80 Local Jobs

Chattanooga, TN (April 1, 2010) - Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL), a global leader in factory-to-dealer logistics, has been awarded the vehicle processing and yard management business at Volkswagen Group of America, Chattanooga Operations new plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee.  The company will create 80 local jobs to fulfill the contract.

WWL will provide the Volkswagen Chattanooga plant with outbound yard management and vehicle processing services, including technical services and value added accessory installation, vehicle releasing, distribution and rail loading. Production is expected to begin in the first half of 2011.

 

Costco is Coming to Catoosa County in August

Fort Oglethorpe, GA (February 19, 2010) -- Costco Wholesalers announced plans of its new location in Catoosa County off Scruggs Road adjacent to Cloud Springs Road and Interstate 75.  The "membership warehouse club" is expected to open in August and will offer between 125 and 150 jobs.
