IBI Power Expansion Adds 60 New Jobs, $5 Million in Investment

Chattanooga, TN (Sept. 20, 2010) - IBI Power, a custom power packaging and integration solutions provider headquartered in Caldwell, Idaho, will locate its expansion to the Southeast in Chattanooga. The expansion represents an investment of $5 million and will create at least 60 new jobs.

 

IBI manufactures metal generator enclosures, metal equipment centers that hold electronic switchgear components and metal battery housings and control buildings, among other products

 

 Chattanooga Announces Only 1 Gigabit Broadband Service in U.S.

Chattanooga, TN (September 13, 2010) – EPB Fiber Optics, Chattanooga’s municipally-owned fiber-to-the-premises network, and Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the only 1 Gigabit broadband service in the United States for residential and business customers is now available citywide in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

 

Whirlpool Expansion Adds to Big Area Projects

Cleveland, TN (September 2, 2010) -- Whirlpool unveiled plans to build a $120 million plant in Bradley County adding130 jobs to its existing work force of 1,500, which assembles ranges and ovens.

Southern Tool Steel Expansion Adds 25 New Jobs

 

Chattanooga, TN (April 28, 2010) -- The ripple effect of the Volkswagen project is illustrated by a $1.7 million expansion planned by Southern Tool Steel, Inc. (STS), a Chattanooga-owned distributor of metals and plastics. The project will double the production capacity of the operation and add 25 new jobs within the first year of completion.
